Bad Harzburg reinvented itself from being a mining town into a wellness/spa resort during the 19^th century.

It became and remained a ´Riveira´ like town of the Harz Mountains, with cake shops, cafes, gardens, and all sorts of things to do when patrons of the clinics sneak out and escape their health regime. Most people of course are not partaking of the treatments and Bad Harzburg like so many Harz locations is developing infrastructures to attract people, such as the huge skywalk that takes you into the tops of the trees.

When not enjoying the hedonist aspects of life the invigorating climate of the Harz Mountains and the huge number of trails will draw you to forest bathe whilst hiking/biking.
